1). Before Buying New Refrigerator Analyze Actual Size Requirement and then Prefer to buy 5 Star Rated & Lowest Annual Energy Consuming Model Among different companies’ Refrigerator.

2). Set Refrigerator on Plain (Flat) Place so that Refrigerator do not Fluctuate on Floor. Also install your Refrigerator properly leaving 2 to 4 inches space between wall and Refrigerator so that air can easily circulate around the refrigerator. These setting decrease pressure on compressor and stop energy wastage.

3). Avoid keeping hot eating items in Refrigerator directly and letting hot items come to normal temperature before keeping in Refrigerator.

4). Regularly defrost manual-defrost refrigerators and freezers because frost buildup increase the amount of energy needed to keep the motor running. Frost makes Refrigerator’s motor work harder and wastes energy. Don’t allow more than one-quarter inch of frost to build up.

5). Make sure your refrigerator door seals are airtight. For checking this Use a slip of paper to check the door seals. Close the door on the paper, and then see if you can pull it out easily. If it pulls right out, your door may need new seals or the refrigerator may need to be replaced. If it sticks tightly in place and you have to tug to get it out, that means the door seals are working properly.

6). Make sure to cover properly liquids and wrap foods stored in the refrigerator. Uncovered foods release moisture and make the compressor work harder.

7). Avoid opening the doors of the refrigerators frequently.

8). Don’t leave the fridge door open for longer unnecessarily, as cold air will escape.

9). Use small cabinets for storing of frequently used items.

10). Before opening the Refrigerator Door, Plan properly for which purposes door has to open (Mean Decide what you want from the refrigerator or freezer before you open the door). By doing this it would be possible to open Refrigerator Door for low time & low number for stopping wastage of energy.

Set the refrigerator temperature between 36° F and 42° F. set the freezer control so the temperature is between -5° F and +6° F. A small thermometer placed in the refrigerator or freezer will help you set it correctly.

13). Clean the Refrigerator (Freeze). In a year once or twice, clean dust off the condenser coils, fins, evaporator pan and motor. A clean unit runs more efficiently. Unplug the unit and clean with a vacuum cleaner or long-handled brush.

14). Always keep Refrigerator (Freeze) away from direct heat. Set to the Refrigerator or freezer away from direct sunlight and other heat sources such as Microwave, Ovens or Ranges. Heat will cause the Refrigerator’s motor to use more energy to stay cold.

15). Don’t place your refrigerator or automatic defrost freezer in a garage, porch or other unheated space. If the temperature drops below 60° F, the Refrigerator (Freeze) may become low efficient and cost more money to operate or the compressor may stop running, causing the temperature inside the freezer compartment to rise. Stored food could spoil.

16). In Latest new advance technique, some Refrigerators (Freeze) contain Five in One convertible Concept. In these Refrigerators, Freezer can be use like Normal Refrigerator (Freeze). It increases Refrigerator’s total capacity. In winter season when Freezer is not in use then electricity consumption can be decreased after turning off to Freezer. If you are alone at home or you have low items for putting in Refrigerator then Set Freezer’s Temperature equal to Refrigerator (Freeze) and turn off Refrigerator. Only single use of Freezer on normal temperature decrease consumption of electricity and save energy.

4). Prefer air conditioners having automatic temperature cut off.

5). Always keep the condenser and filter clean. Keep leaves, grass and other debris away from the outside condenser. Also, clean the filter monthly and replace it when required. A clean condenser and filter help the unit run more efficiently.

6). Always try to keep the sunlight out from room. Closing of curtains, drapes, black film on window glasses on the sunny side of room during the day help to keep the house cooler, it makes the Air Conditioner to consume low energy for bringing the temperature at a comfortable level.

7). Try to install the Window Air Conditioner out from direct sunlight. Locate the AC out of direct sunlight and avoid the east and west sides of the house. Placing the air conditioner in direct sunlight causes it to work harder to cool your home. Try to install AC in shadow of any Tree adjacent of house.

8). Tightly close or Seal the doors and windows properly when Air Conditioner is on for Cooling. Every time when door is opened then cooling goes out and heat come in, this process unnecessarily increase load on AC for making cool and increase energy consumption.

9). Leave enough proper space between Air Conditioner and the walls to allow better air circulation.

10). Always try to set your thermostat as high as comfortably possible in the summer. Low difference between the indoor and outdoor temperatures, the lower will be energy consumption.

11). Always avoid setting the Air Conditioner thermostat at high initially. Don’t set Air Conditioner thermostat at a very colder setting than normal because when you turn on Air Conditioner, it will not cool your home any faster and could result in unnecessarily excessive cooling as well as excessive energy consumption.

12). Totally avoid to place or set any Electronic or Electrical items like televisions, stereos, computers, lamps or TV sets etc near your Air-Condition thermostat. The thermostat senses heat from these appliances, which become cause of Air conditioner to run longer unnecessarily mean more energy consumption.

13). Try to Plant trees or shrubs for shading to Air-Conditioning units but do not block the airflow. A unit operating in the shade uses at least 10% low electricity as compared to the same one operating in the sun.

14). Proper Operation of the ceiling fan in conjunction with Air condition (Specially with Window Air Condition) Unit is helpful for spreading of cooled Air more effectively throughout the room and make to operate the Air Conditioner at higher temperature.

15). Replace coils. For maximum efficiency, change the indoor and outdoor compressor coils when replacing an older central air conditioner.

16). Get your Air Condition Unit tuned up at Proper time. Try to get your central air conditioner tuned up by a qualified specialist mechanic every other year. This can help the unit operate more efficiently and may prevent failures in the middle of peak season.  Try to get Air Conditioner Unit servicing in the very starting of summer season before First day Air Condition Unit Starting Operation.

17). Only cool to that room where need is or where Air Condition Unit is installed. Close unused rooms to keep cooled air in areas where it is most needed.

18). Always avoid of making more unnecessary heating. Delay chores that produce heat and moisture until the cooler parts of the day or evening. Try to limit dish washing, laundering and cooking on any hot or humid day. These activities make room more uncomfortable and require Air Condition Unit to work harder mean more energy consumption.

19). Try to use the microwave. Using of microwave oven rather than standard oven or range creates less heat and humidity at home.

20). Quickly turn off all electronic or electric items you are not using. Don’t leave electronic or electric items, such as televisions, stereos, Laptops and computers on, if you don’t need them. These items produce heat. Extra heat requires more energy consumption for Air Condition Unit for making cool.

21). Always keep vents clear. Keep furniture and drapes away from Air vents. This allows the cool air to move out into the rooms and keeps Air Condition Unit running more unnecessarily.

22). Remove the Air Condition unit at the end of the season. Take your room air conditioner out of the window when the season is over. If Air Condition Unit has to leave in the installed place, then properly cover outside of the AC unit.

23). During continuous running of AC when temperature of room become cool or very cool then switch off AC. Again after some time, AC can be switch on when you feel hot.

24). ALWAYS SET YOUR AC TEMPERATURE    AT 24-26 DEGREE CELSIUS OR ABOVE FOR GETTING APPROPRIATE NORMAL COOLING TEMPERATURE. BY SETTING AC TEMPERATURE AT 24-26 DEGREE CELSIUS OR ABOVE NOT JUST APPROPRIATE FOR YOUR BODY OR ROOM TEMPERATURE BUT IS ALSO HELPFUL FOR SAVING OR CONSERVING GOOD QUANTITY OF ENERGY/POWER OR ELECTRICITY. IF WE SET AC TEMPERATURE AT 26 OR ABOVE DEGREE CELSIUS AND ALSO ON TO CEILING FAN ON NORMAL SPEED, THEN CEILING FAN PROPER CIRCULATE AC’S COOLING AIR IN WHOLE ROOM WHICH IS VERY HELPFUL FOR SAVING OR CONSERVING GOOD QUANTITY OF ENERGY/POWER OR ELECTRICITY.

25). USE AC ONLY AS A LAST OPTION FOR GETTING COOLNESS BECAUSE NORMALLY EVEN ONE FIVE STAR RATED AC OF 1 TO 1.5 TON CONSUME EQUAL ELECTRICITY/POWER OR ENERGY OF 15 TO 25 CEILING FANS. SO IF USE OF SOME CEILING, WALL OR TABLE FANS IS APPROPRIATE FOR GETTING AIR IN SUMMER THEN TRY TO TOTALLY AVOID USE OF ACS. BY DOING SO HUGE QUANTITY OF ELECTRICITY/POWER OR ENERGY CAN BE SAVED.

12). Regularly clean all Light fittings, LED Bulbs/Tubes, Reflectors and Lampshades for proper maintaining high illumination.

13). Slim LED Tube lights give better light and consume less electricity/energy/power than Conventional Tube Lights.

14). Try to Use of new electronic chokes in place of conventional copper chokes.

15). For taking advantage of daylight, use light-coloured, shiny, loose-weave curtains on windows which allow daylight to penetrate the room.

* IN SUMMER AND WINTER SEAON, THERE ARE SOME IMPORTANT POINTS WHICH SHOULD TAKE CARE FOR SAVING POWER/ ELECTRICITY/ELECTRIC ENERGY & FOR DECREASING ELECTRICTY BILLING PAYMENT.

* In Summer Efficient or Optimum use of Electricity/Energy/Power for saving/conserving Energy/Electricity/Power:

1). A roof garden reduces the load on Air Conditioner. Roof Garden do not let hot to roof quickly.

2). Keep curtains, drapes or shades closed during the day.

3). Use ceiling, window, wall or table fans instead of Air Conditioner or Cooler when there is not much hot. Ceiling, Window, Wall & Table Fans use very less electricity as compared to Air Conditioners or Coolers.

4). Make sure use of Air Conditioner or Cooler only when there is really much hot outside.

5). If there is proper space then plant Single or many trees around building premises because trees help for shading of any building premises in the summer and keep building premises cooler.

6). If it is possible then install Window Air Conditioners or Cooler in the shade of Trees or Wall etc. If unit is in the direct bright sunlight, it uses up to 5% more energy than if it is in the shade.

7). Open windows at night and use fans to blow in cool air. During the day, close windows and draw the curtains closed to keep out sunlight.
